The Children's Atlas of the Twentieth Century

As a result of world wars and revolutions, the dissolution of old empires and formation of new alliances, new countries have been formed and maps redrawn. This atlas allows older children to trace, for example, the course of the Russian Revolution or the rise of new nations in Africa, as well as examine the personalities who instigated these events. The atlas does not deal only with political history. It also examines social and cultural trends, from the changing role of women to unemployment, the major advances in science and medicine to key moments in art and literature.
